3 months from order to build date...new record?

Just received VIN... about 6 weeks after ordering truck. Now they say build date is Aug. 8 and delivery is Aug.14.
From what I read here, 6 days for delivery is iffy at best, we'll see.
Thought about waiting until 2018 order date but also worry about job 1 for 2018. Also there might be a Job 3 for 2017? Tanks, leaks, inverter and other stuff. Year end type of incentive stuff could come into play on the 17's, I don't know.
Can anybody beat the 13 week record (about)?

I don't know how you guys don't just pick one up off the lot. I could barely wait the couple hours it took em to wash/fuel, whatever to get it ready. Months?! No effing way.

Since this is my first ever new vehicle purchase I wanted it my way. Since I am really old I hope it to last me till the end! Dealer could not locate a truck like I wanted within 300 miles, we had to order, a pain I know!

Mine was ordered and delivered in 6 weeks and a couple days. Rodney's was faster than that.

You did the right thing in ordering. Too many options in my opinion to just settle. They cost a fortune, so get exactly what ya want!

If you can stand the wait, then more power to ya! I just couldn't personally. I end up customizing my trucks so much it doesnt really matter what I order off the lot. Engine, power train, color and number of doors is all I really care about lol.

Got my fingers crossed yours shows up early, you're gonna love it!

3 months is nothing. In fact, the Ford Fleet guide says 10-12 weeks. Sales people sometimes like to dream about 6-8 weeks, and sometimes that happens, but IMO it's disingenuous to make that a selling point.

I read the factory closed down for 2 weeks in July so that could be part of the delay

Reading here, that has proven to be for the 150's only.

I'm just quoting info from this forum. Couldn't tell you for sure if it's true. I ordered my 250 on 4/18 and it arrived 6/20 for your information

Seems the priority code does have an effect on wait time... Those of us that had a code of 10 or 11 waited twice as long as those with a #1...
If you have any pull at the dealership might be worth mentioning at time of order... I personally don't know how to get one but mabey someone here does.

All North American Ford assembly plants close for two weeks usually in July, sometimes August. It is mandatory vacation. If they didn't have shutdowns, they would need to hire more people to cover people using vacation time.

Mine took 8 months from order to delivery. 7 months and 1 week from order to build.
