After my 1992 7.3 rebuild I have three bolts left
So I finished the rebuild on my 1992 F350 with 7.3 IDI. I reinstalled it in the truck and then found these three small flanged bolts in a tray that was used for small items such as the injector line clamps, hose clamps, etc., sort of peripheral external to the motor stuff.
Anyone recognize the three bolts? They measure approximately 5/16" (8mm?) diameter at the thread and approximately 5/8" (15mm?) long with a pretty big flange. I hate to leave these out. Seems they were somewhere oily and not to too exposed to dust/dirt which makes me worry more that they were from somewhere more internal in the engine. I cant remember even seeing them before. I fairly carefully bagged and labeled all nuts and bolts and missed these.
I haven't started the engine yet but close to it. Any help is very appreciated

Anything that small typically holds on to sheet metal thickness type stuff. Anything that oily makes me thing it was on the underside. Are they the bolts that hold on to the tranny line brackets along the bottom passenger side of the engine? My tranny bracket bolts are small like that and are always covered in a mix of oil, tranny fluid, and diesel.

That was the best - thanks for the answer. I had a friend helping me the first day getting ready for the removal and I didnt see he took off the inspection cover for the bellhousing. After searching I eventually found the cover sitting behind a gate in my side yard. I appreciate everyones help with my three left over bolts.

I got the cover on after the engine started and I checked everything out. It was a real plus that after a quick bleed on the fuel filter it started up and ran nice and smooth. Now I need to put on the rest of the front end and take it for a drive. Happy Memorial Day have a great weekend!
