F350 Tire Pressures

What kind of tire pressures are members running on their F350s SRW when empty ?? The door sticker indicates 60 lbs front, 80 lbs rear for tire pressures, and that is what my dealer had my tires pumped to when I picked up the truck. But considering that the front is much heavier than the back when unloaded, that just makes sense that you don't need that kind of pressure in the back tires when running empty. I tried 60 lbs all of the way around, and the truck seemed to handle better than with 80 lbs in the rear tires. But I had 1 rear tire that showed "low tire pressure" on the dash screen.

What say y'all ??

I run 60 in the rear when not in towing season. You need to lower your TPMS alarm threshold or you will get a low pressure alert. Either the dealer can do it or you'll have to do it yourself with Forscan. Look at the Forscan spreadsheet thread for instructions.

My dealer told me they can no longer adjust the TPMS, because of "new DOT regulations". Maybe this is why my rear shocks are leaking oil at 4800 miles, like riding on solid struts, lol.

Hi Rodney, I didn't realize the dealer will lower the TPMS alarm threshold. I know I can do it with Forscan but it'd be good to get the dealer to lower it for me.

Dealers can. But many won't...
