Tire Pressure?!?!

I checked my tire pressure tonight. According to the label on the pillar for the drivers door, my tire pressure should be 65 psi front and 80 psi rear. All the tires are 50 psi. I've had the truck for 10 days, so they came from the dealer like that. It's an F350 SRW with factory 20's. The tires are rated for 80 psi cold so I'll fill them up, but jeez, why would the dealer send me off with under inflated tires? Better ride quality?

I had the exact same issue on my new F350. 50psi all around. I increased the pressure to what they should be and I have noticed a lot less tire roll while cornering. I don't understand why the dealers don't at least air them up before you drive off the lot.

Mine were 50psi as well (calls for 60F/75R). This is the first time I ever got a vehicle from the dealer not properly inflated to manuf. specs when I drove it off the lot.

I posted on another thread here that I read dealers may do this to give a smoother test drive. I wasn't sure that was true, but it looks like more people have the same issue.

That would not surprise me at all. When we test drove the F350 my wife commented on how much better it rode than she remembers others. i should go back and check the pressure....

FWIW, after I inflated mine to 65F/75R, I thought my truck rode better than before. But then I'm one of those people that think if a truck rides like a Cadillac there must be something wrong with it.
