My F-2000 to F-2015 Build

I have had my 2000 F-250 XL since it was barely a year old and now after many years of wear and tear, it’s time to put some quality timeback into it. I did the 07 conversion but decided to go all the way so I’m pretty much going to replace all the sheet metal from front to back. I’m going to bring it up to date so I will be doing a 2000 to 2015 front end conversion with the 2015 bed also. Anything mechanically that needs replacing I’ll replace. I’m going to rust convert and encapsulate the frame and then spray with chassis black satin. I’m going to sand blast the underside of the floor pans, cab supports and anywhere else that needs it,prime and truck bed line them as well as most of the underside of the truck, also high temp POR 15 my new exhaust. The color is going to be as it was originally, Silver(a cooler silver) with satin or flat charcoal Gun Metal grey bumpers, satin or flat Black trim and badges, smoked 08- 2015 Factory looking taillights, some very, very, subtle chrome accents also a little diamond plate.I’m rebuilding this truck on overtime money only and I have been buying parts for the last two years and continue to do so, Just waiting for a few more parts for the front conversion. The beauty is, it’s all paid for as I go!!! I will be working on weather permitting as it won’t fit in the garage.
Things I have done:
Power chip
2000 to 2007 front end conversion, Header panel, grill, headlights bumper pad and bumper upgrade.
Exhaust type: Flowmaster(40 series) with dual 3’ Stainless tips out the back.
Lift: 4in ProComp suspension lift (6’ is cool but 4’ is more realistic for my needs as a work truck)
-5 offset Chrome ported wheels to keep the tires under thetruck for a taller, slimmer look and Goodyear Duratrac 35’s.
Rebuilt the front end with all new lifetime guaranteed Raybestos Pro grade ball joints, life time guaranteed tie rods, center link, seals, everything.
Smoked cab lights.
Installed and rewired 08-2015 Smoked Tail lights
Installed and started to wire up 08-2015 Mirrors (have the running lights wired so far still need to wire up turn signals.)
Tinted windows.
Things I want to do:
All new body panels.
2015 Front conversion
Paint: Silver truck.
2015 inter door panels (already made it work with both old front doors)
Remove exhaust manifolds and replace with new exhaustmanifolds with stainless bolts.
Truck bed line inside of all fenders Remove factory foam where needed and Fluid film everything after paint.
Replace old vinyl floor with Remove bench seat and rust encapsulate inside floor.
Add sound proofing in cab.
New vinyl floor (No carpet to get dirty)
FogLights infront bumper (Maybe).
Tint red to smoke on 3rd light to match taillights.
Anything mechanical fix or do preventative.
Re lube everything.
G2 manual Hubs.
Parts that I alreadyhave purchased:
2015 Hood OEM
Bed and step Tailgate (need step). OEM
Driver And passenger front doors. OEM
Supercab rear half doors (Both) OEM
Outer Cab corners. (Both)
Inner cab corners (Both)
Inner rockers. (Both) OEM
Rear door pillars. (Both)
Rear rockers with half door latch (Both)
Front rockers. (Both)
Driver and passenger Front fenders. OEM
Metal brackets for front conversion
Upper and lower grill mount supports
Paintable Grill shell and grill backing
Hood hinges
08-2015 Mirrors
08-2015 Black Taillights and wire harness connectors.
Body work supplies. $$$
2015 wiper squirt’s on hood
2008/2015 wiper linkage
Specialty tools. $$$
2015 rear bumper. OEM
2015 front bumper. OEM
Bolts/fasteners, rubber bumpers and rubber seals OEM
Eastwood frame rust encapsulater

Here it is now

That sounds like an ambitious project. Post some pics along the way.

Will do!! Been looking forward to getting this started for along time!!!
Already notched the frame for the lower grille support. I want to box the frame later once I work out the front bumper brackets.

This will be interesting. Subscribed.

Are you leaving the interior dash and seats alone?

I have plans to change the dash for sure after I paint the truck and buckets with the console. I already bought a 2010 cluster to see if I can make the gages look stock but it's on the back burner for now as I have so much to do with getting the truck back into shape.

Tore my bumper down and rough mounted it today and my plan is to move the brackets out about 1 inch on each side and then it should set on the pads pretty even.
Then I want to add a few inches to the bottom of each pad to use all four bolts so its solid and then cut the middle below the frame and mount my hooks on the underside of the frame.

I haven't payed much attention to any build threads since co425's Betty turns oil burner, but this one intrigues me greatly. Can't wait to see more.

I was thinking of doing just the front bumper, but have not seen much on people swapping them yet.

Subscribing as well this will be an awesome build something to come back to when I plan to do the same to my wife's soon to be 2000 Excursion. Who knows maybe I'll do the same to my 2005 F350.

Good luck and sounds like your on the right track.

Welcome everyone !! Looking forward to some input and ideas and great advice!!
I'm just waiting on a couple more parts, the inner grill assembly is on it's way and I'm hoping to order the 11-2015 cowl next week and other than the under the hood rubber gaskets (seals) and headlights I should be set. It"s going in for a new windshield a week from this Saturday.

For the frontend conversion, I did a ton of homework and I’m going to post a detailed list of parts and all the part numbers and these will at least be proven to work on my truck but I want to make sure they all work so the list is correct, my cost with what I could wheel and deal, me doing the labor and I will also post detailed pictures of the whole conversion as I do it.
