Its my first time building this engine , sounds good and all but wont start on its own . Any ideas?

 

Check oil level in high pressure fuel pump.

 

I have had this problem with a 7.3 in the past, where a little shot of ether (no glow plugs!) fired got it running, but wouldn't run on its own. It ended up being the IDM, and it got to the point where it wouldn't start on ether, either, and I began troubleshooting with a scanner, which is what you'll need to do if you don't wanna throw parts at it.

There's quite a bit of info you'll need to give us to be able to really help troubleshoot.

Did the engine run before the rebuild? What all was replaced?

Also, the thread starter has only ever made three posts here. I would guess they were all around the time this thread was started.
