That's a interesting setup it reminds me of the STS turbo kits. I'm not sure if they are even around anymore but they seemed to pioneer that idea for the F body cars a while back.

It works very well with the 3100 stall. I was worried with all the horror stories of rearmounts, but with this combo, exhaust backpressure is at 37 psi with 20 psi of boost, for a 1.85:1 ratio. 2:1 ratio is considered good for a street/strip machine even if front mounted. Every ounce behind the rear axle on a street/strip truck is good!

Reps given for what I believe to be the first working 300 turbo thread ever on FTE. AFAIK. IIRC. YMMV.

Thanks 85 It's been fun but a lot of work getting the combo good. I was nearly at the end of my streetable rope with the comp 268h cam only good to 4500 rpm at 20 psi. It hauled, but not quite enough. Then I took the owner of a new 375 hp Challenger for a ride. He was not interested in racing after the ride.

I had the Crower cam sitting there deamed as not being turbo friendly, resulted in pulling like a freight train to 5000 rpm and a good 50 asspower more. Now it's a bit scary on the street so i'm happy.

Usually she has the video on FB before I even get my timeslips! We will bring a white turbo 3.8 T-bird along also, ran 12.43 last year before head and intake swap. We will prolly race each other, his is lighter and faster now with the swap. I am only running the 1/8 mile at this time. If I can't post the video here I will put up a link.

If some new guy came on the forums and said he wanted to build a turbo 300, I'd have laughed myself right off the couch. You sir, have quite the imagination. Looks sweet, but I HAVE to see the video.

What kinda pistons are you running? The Meth injection helps cool stuff to prevent detonation?

Nice truck, btw!

Stock 88 efi as listed above. Meth cools the charge and adds octane to allow more timing and boost, water helps control combustion and cool the pistons. Meth adds richness to the mixture, i'm adding a higher percent of meth as I go to get a 80m/20w mix which should be optimum. Then I will rejet the carb if needed depending on afr. I'm a little leaner than I like right now, so hoping 80/20 will richen a bit and all will be good. Then I may turn the boost up to 24 psi at the track if i'm safe. I'm am going to get a good pass in at 20 psi before I touch anything just in case.

Super neat build! The look is perfect for a street sleeper.

20 psi on the stock pistons??? Is that considered "pushing it"? I'm not that familiar with these engines, but that seems like alot on any stock piston.

I bet it sounds cool too.
