Dan-We did a very in depth job of cleaning out the cylidner before putting the new one in... OK, that's good.
The horrible noise that it made when I decided to have it towed to the dealer ship has now gone away. Id the ICM still a thing to think about... My buddy has a '99 that has the same ICM as my truck so i think we might try swapping them to see if it fixes my truck... Anyone have pics/location of the ICM???
Due to the laws of nature, the fact remains that if you only have 200 psi compression on one of the cylinders, nothing that you do to the engine will clean up that misfire. Not trying to be a nag here, but you cannot expect any successful repairs until that issue is addressed/repaired.
So I talked to the tech face to face today... He told me that when he did the compression test on #8 it spiked to 250psi... But with no shradder valve he didnt get to wait and see how high it would go. What is the stock minimum psi for the 7.3? Alos i told him that the truck ran better then it had for about six blocks before it started to make the worse noise. So now he is leaning toward it being the IDM. Regardless I picked the truck up today and decided to to figure out what I could on my own. So i called my friend and we pulled out the IDM and opened it up to see if there might be physical damage/corrosion to it. No such luck. So we sealed it back up and re-installed it. No difference in how the truck runs. (i was hoping ok?) So i was reviewing the work he had done on my work order sheet and come to find ok that he put another re-manned injector in it not a new one like I was led to think. I asked him earlier if there was any chance of getting a bad new injector out of the box and he told me no. As my luck has it is there a chance the the remanned injector from ford is no better then the one from Alliance? I know I'm spinning my wheels and probably starting to give yall a headache. But believe me I REALLY appreciate your time I know what it is worth... Thanks!!!

Like Dan and Mike suggested you have to get a bonafide compression test on that cylinder. Without that you are surely spinning your wheels. Anything right out of the box can be bad, new or reman. You know that.
Well hopfully my luck is about to change. I got a call from a friend of mine that informed me that one of the guys that we work with out at the local dirt track is the top rated ford diesel tech in the greater bay area and has been voted best tech for the past few years running. He works out at Salinas Valley Ford which is one of the biggest dealers/shops in the tri-county area.My friend gave him a call and told him about all my issue (with the truck and dealership here) And says I should be getting a call from him tomorrow and he is willing to help me as a friend. So hopefully he will figure it out, and maybe even in the long run help me point fingers at my local dealer.

Good news here Nolan. Now you will get some traction in solving this.
i just know its not internal... When this whole thing started it wasn't consistent at all! it would run great one time and then not so good the next and then excellent and then crappy. When something internal brakes... its broken. And the truck wouldn't be driving with ok fuel mileage. And decent power for this long. If worse comes to worse I will take it to Salinas Valley Ford that way this guy can use ALL of his resources to figure it out. I nor is anyone pulling that head off, untill i have physical proof that something in there is broke. Even if that means it braking worse!!! LOL
Thanks Guys For listening to me!!!!
<-----HARD HEADED REDNECK!!!!
Nolan, glad to hear there is a plan in place. SVF has taken great care of my truck in the past. Call me if you need any help gettin back from there when you drop it off.
Thanks Duck Fan... By the way your are past your 25 post minimum and you can now go to your USER CP and make your own signature. You should do that. And you should also look at becoming a supporter I know for a fact this site has helped you... lol
I doubt you have internal breakage myself. It would just feel better to know that #8 is OK. Look for 400 or above for a good engine. 370-400 is in the marginal/OK area but if one is 40-50psi below the rest it is a problem hole.
