Trying to decide if I want to remove all the mounting brackets to clean them up. All of them are rusted, the one showing is in the best shape. The problem is I don't have any brads/rivets like they used. I could use SS hardware and reattach them since they want show. Maybe apply some rust converter? I do have a brad setter if I can locate some.

Looking at fog lights I found these from Rigid that are small enough to fit behind the grill if I want. This way I want have to do fab work on the bumper. These are SAE/DOT approved for road use.

Pro-sae-6-inch

I think these will look better than the small round ones I've looked at. There is only 3" of flat surface on the frond pumper. To center I would have to cut into the top contour which would weaken the bumper during impact.

Have the bumper shortened 1" on each end and changed the end shape to look cleaner.

Still have a little cleanup work to do on the edge but it gives you a good idea of the shape and fit.

Looks good and it reminded me I needed to order some panel clamps. So, thanks!

Been a while since I've posted any updates so here is what I've done.

Fog lights opening french-ed into the bumper,. Using the Ridge 6" fog lights. Have the mounting brackets ready to weld on, but have not done it yet.

1/4
1/4" CR steel bar rolled into a frame.
Frame welded in
Frame welded in, Still need to smooth out welds.
Showing openings in bumper.
Showing openings in bumper.

Started on repairs to the bed. The right front mount was completely rusted out, top side and bottom. Bottom part is the easy repair. The inner bed is requiring shaping a piece of metal to fit the hole.

This wheel tub is corner is corroded pretty bad. A replacement wheel tub is ~$200 which is a waste since all I need is the corner. Going to weld it up, since I'm going to have a bed liner sprayed. I do need to get a better picture of this. Found a few more holes scattered but nothing major. Once I get these areas done I'm going to media bast it to see what I missed. Then spray epoxy primer.

Slow progress but progress.

I like the choice to use a rectangular fog light.

Going to have to lay the bed back flat so I can weld in the bed patch.

Thanks for the kind comments. I only try to do my best. Being in my 70's I've added a lot of knowledge and experience over the years. This project is a buck list item that kept growing.

I cut the cancer corner out of the wheel tub and have fabricated a new corner to go in. Finished up on the front mounting bolt.

Fabricated a cab corner.

Now I just need to weld it in. Then I have to wait for the weather to get nice so I can drag it outside and media blast the bed to see what all I'm missing. I n=know if have a large section in the right front corner I need to deal with and several pin holes where the seam sealer is.
