Abe, you really should get a small impact driver- very handy and only 10 bucks or so. Great for philips screws- just hit it with a hammer. I take the bit alone and hit it w hammer to seat the bit in the screw head, then put driver on ,set to left and hit . you will use it lots if you take stuff apart a lot.

Thanks Dennis. Thanks Greg. I'm not sure which way I'll go just yet.

Lowe's has a impact driver for $20. Shall I pay 20 bucks for a tool that I'll use many times or pay $10 for a large tube of sealant that I'll use a very small amount and then after awhile the sealant in the tube will become hardened and I'll throw it away after it sits on my workbench.

Of course I'll also to consider paying $22 dollars for a reproduction pedal versus keeping the gas pedal my grandfather and uncles (and my grandmother) put their right foot on.

Do you know someone who has a good collection of tools? Buy the tool and give it to them. You won't need to store, they might have a use for it and if you need it again you know where to go to get it.

Thanks Bob. I didn't think to look at HF. My buddy Bill is a tool guy. I'm sure he has one and also a hammer drill.

They say if you'll need to borrow a tool twice or more you should buy one.

What he said. I use mine frequently. I recently used it on a long submerged swimming pool light frame. One smack with a hammer under water and the screw broke free. It is one of those tools you ask yourself how you ever got along without it.

I'm not sure what you mean by gas pedal arm. All I need is the gas pedal, not the linkage. Thanks for the offer.

Abe, I don't have a gas pedal, only the throttle arm that goes through the firewall. Jay

Thanks for the offer Jay. My throttle arm is original and good.

And that is one reason why I love FTE 48-56 forum and FTE members.
