I have a 77 F-250 supercab with red interior. The question is, there are 4 different red colors in the interior so which red is correct?
Red painted parts (doors & dash) matches the exterior, the door panels are a darker wine type color red the arm rests are slightly darker. The seats and head liner are a brighter red. The dash pad is also a darker wine color red. The carpet is a medium blend of both.
Did the PO buy misc replacement parts and not pay attention to the red he ordered? Did the trucks come this way? Hard to believe they did. I’d like to get it all the same red and not sure which one is really correct.
Also this truck has what appear to be original seat belts. Did they only come in black or were these originally red and replaced with black ones?
My '77 was originally color code "T" and "V" as is indicated on the warranty plate on driver door. "T" is Candy Apple Red and "V" is Silver Metalic. My interior metal dash, etc, looks to be a hair darker than yours, and the plastic door panels look a little darker that yours. The dash pad and the arm rest were a darker than the painted parts, more maroon than red, like yours. Seat belts came black OEM. It had a bench seat, but mine had been recovered already. I long ago forgot what the carpet looked like. Lighting can change looks.
Yes looks like a mish mash of red parts. Looks like the arm rest and dash pad came from the same truck, but not that one originally. I bet seat and headliner have been reupholstered. Post a pic of the headliner to give us idea of the material used. But no matter what, your truck sure is sharp looking.
Keep in mind red fades easily and depending how much time you truck sat in the sun there will be variations and that is also dependant on the material. the paint on the metal parts of interior will be most resistant. Your seat was definitely redone and the carpet was probably replaced as well unless it was a garage kept low mile vehicle. Here are a couple pics of my truck. Original paint on interior. Original door panels. The dash pad and carpeting were replaced. there is really only one manufacturer for carpet and I thought it matched the original pretty well comparing to the section under seat that is protected from light and dirt. I had the seat redone using NOS material from SMS and thought it was a little bright but again especially red vinyl is susceptible to fading over time. Red is very difficult color to match and maintain manufacturing consistency on substrates like plastic, vinyl, and upholstery and seriously doubt everything in the interior ever matched even when new. And yes black seat belts correct.
Nice looking truck. This is the only shot I have of the interior from our 76 Cayenne Red on red truck. I know the seat cover was replaced. Not sure if it helps but figured I would throw it out there just in case.
Bright Red and Wimbledon White. Looks like the interior metal is still that "Bright Red" anyway. I think the dash pad and armrest are probably original, though maybe worn & faded some. Seat belt material is original color, black ... steering column too. Transfer case shift **** looks original too.

The dash pad looks like it’s new so I think it was replaced but it matches the door panels color and the rear plastic parts colors so I think most of that is original. The door panels look like they are original since the plastic chrome is pretty much all flaked off. and it looks like they may have painted the section that’s normally woodgrain or something. I’m not sure but it’s a Ranger XLT and I thought the door panel inserts were that wood look
