The best Drill is a Mill... but if you're not a Millionaire...
Can any of you guys help me figure out how to reverse the rotation on this 230VAC spa pump motor please? Normally one would just change the winding the start capacitor is on to kick the motor in the opposite direction but this one has two main windings and one phase winding.
I was at @Dan V ’s shop on Friday again. The Master Turner was helping me with my drill press upgrade. I’m replacing the original 6204 spindle bearing with a 5204, which is the double row angular contact version of the old bearing.
If you are looking to get into some true machine shop tools, there's lots of good equipment at estate actions lately. Woodworking too. Seems way too many boomers have been passing away way earlier than they expected. Not just from covid...
Some stuff goes insanely low for opening bid, some for way more than new. Just do your research before the auction, and see if luck is on your side that day. Most decent auctions will have at least a picture or description on their website allowing you to do your homework ahead of time.

Auctions are fun and sale prices swing widely. Sometimes it takes a while to find what you're looking for at a price you're willing to pay but it's all part of the chase. And sooner or later, everyone gets distracted while something they want goes cheap and ends up with something they didn't want because they weren't paying attention and bid on something they didn't want, thinking it was something else.

Yes but I don’t have floor space and three-phase power in my garage for a Haas or Mazak 5-axis CNC.
The classified market is worth a look as well. While building the wood shop, we have been fortunate enough to save about $3,000 on two large machines and various sized clamps.
This makes up the cost of building materials and inflation a bit too.
