Did they change the computer by chance. If so the S/N' won't match anymore. Just a thought.
It won't matter as long as it was returned to the stock tune before the dealer flashed it. When you return the truck to the stock tune, the Predator resets itself and can be used on any 03 or 04 PSD.
I wonder if the extra PCM memory capacity will be used to store historical information such as top speed and top RPM to catch abusers when warranty questions arise.

I have an 150 hp yamaha outboard engine that they do this on. My engine locked up on me and they checked my computer for abuse. Good thing I didn't abuse it and my warranty was still good.. They had to replace my whole powerhead. I think it would have cost me around $7000 if I would have had to do it myself.

Correct me if I am wrong Bob but I thought the Pred married itself to the PCM? I was told it reads the s/n placed in the PCM and that is why they have to use the back door sometimes to get back into them....
If you don't change the down pipe doesn't that make it the bottleneck in the system?
I'm getting the predator (I thought today but UPS screwed up) and might get an exhaust system. How much difference is there when you dont change the down pipe.

It does until you restore the stock tune which resets the tuner so you can use it on any truck.
The back door is for those times that the stock tune has not been restored and the tuner gets a glitch and doesn't recognize the truck.
Check your tuner as it boots up to see what version is in it.
Go to diablosport.com and download the latest update for your predator and install it.
You dealer probably changed the flash on your truck to a flash that the Predator doesn't recognize.
Thanks for the info ! I had and always do put it back to stock before taking it to the dealership...
They reflashed it with a new flash that the predator didn't recognize at first. I downloaded the new 'f' version for predator, and then went back to the truck and got my 100HP tune back!
I didn't measure it with a dyno or anything...
but the turbo back exhaust gave me about 25 to 30 hp according to my butt-o-meter....
I would guess the cat back would give 15 to 20 ?????
Best check with Motorhaven as they may have a better idea though...

The memory that is larger is the executable program size (ROM), not the RAM.
so the e and f versions where for the new pcm flash codes then I'll bet...
more than just cosmetic.... !!!!
and you run around in the 100hp mode !?!?!?!
Wow, I can't take the fuel consumption (I know, it's my right foots fault !!!)
I've been running around in 100HP since early May and it rocks! The thing I found is that I get 15.5 mpg on the dummy meter without any software upgrade and 17.7 with the software upgrade. Most of my tank is running up and down the freeway at about 75 mph.
That WOULD make a difference...
around the dfw area there are too many "opportunities" to smoke em since I got em with all the traffic and stop signs and red lights....
That along with my remote starter long idle times just got too costly for my pockets
(and I normally could care less about fuelage ) the fun is too much to avoid for me.. too little self control I guess !!!!

You are absolutely correct. I just read that in the manual. Well you know how engineers are, they don't read the manual. Oh, they are like 16 year olds, they know everything. Oops, that was another thread.
