Sacramento Vintage Ford
Hi there,
Does anyone know, if Sacramento Vintage Ford is still in business or if they are in a vacation?. I ordered the brake booster assembly in March, they sent me the shipping quotes which I agreed and the payment via Amex was accomplished on March 20th. Since then I didn't get any informations from them concerning the status of my order and if it has been shipped. I've send several e-mails on different adresses - but to no avail. Has anyone else proplems with them?

My suggestion would be to sent a physical letter or call them. I realize being in Germany makes a call very hard. Maybe some one from here in the US could check for you. I am in central Nebraska which is 2 time zones away but if you e-mail or private message me your name and order number and info I will call Vintage Ford and see what I can find out for you. It may take a few days as I do not get messages on my phone. They have always been very accommodating when I have talked to them. I have enjoyed their show room several times when visiting relatives in California it is one of my favorite things to do while visiting.

Hello stubbfarmer,
that's very kind of You! Wow! As You already realized, due to the different time-zones it's not that easy to make a call via telephone. I'll give it another try by sending them a fax now. If this doesn't work - I'll get back to your offer and contact You. Thanks in advance!

The last time I ordered something from them it took a couple of months to get my parts. Evidently, they transposed my phone number and couldn't contact me. Eventually, I received a letter from them telling me that the parts were in.
Guess it was partly my fault as I could have called them a couple of weeks earlier. I wasn't in a hurry for the part.
From now on, I will gonly to their store, buy the part, and follow up frequently.

Well, the shipment is expensive - unfortunately. Depending on the size and weight it can be up to a third of the price for the parts. Then You have to add custom-fees (2-7 %) and taxes (19%). In the end I'll pay roughly one and a half the original price. Shipment mostly goes by air freight (UPS) and it takes only days. For bigger and / or heavier parts You can by space in a
container going out by sea. That's cheaper than air freight but takes longer.
So it's smart to order several parts and have them shipped together in one
package. I hope Mr. Trump won't cut us off from the U.S. market one day .
Then I'd have to find a smuggler
