Sad but true. My biggest issue is Dennis Carpenter always waves the flag yet doesn't seem to back it up always.

I was in Charlotte in 2004 attending the 3 day SDC car show and swap meet.

When it ended, went to Carpenters in Concord, bought a pile of NOS parts, also bought the hood letters for the Galaxie, but Carpenter was out of stock.

When they arrived several weeks later, I was disgusted to see that they were made in China. The quality was terrible, so I threw them away, had my original letters re-chromed.

I don't know if it's visible but my Dennis Carpenter hose that costs 50.00 has a large " Made in China" stamped on it.

Hi guys...I've enjoyed the conversations. I have a 68 F250 that I'm installing the drivers side saddle tank on. I bought the tank from LMC but can't come up with mounting straps. If I have to I could take something from a salvage and reform them, but I would rather use the right stuff. It looks like it had one in there before since I have the dash switch and the hole in the bed floor and the bed side have been welded up.I don't see where the straps would hook to the frame, but then I don't really know what I'm looking for...Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Fordification.com shows exploded views of exactly what your needing. You'll have to dig a little but it's there believe me. I have had to refer to it many times for part #'s.

Finally got my auxiliary fuel tank filler neck extended. After getting a quote from an exhaust shop of 30.00 just to make an adapter for me, I went to Auto Zone and paid 2.99 for a 2 1/8 inch exhaust coupler. I cut the filler neck and added in about 2 inches. problem solved. It's always one more thing with this project. Now all I have to do is order a rubber grommet for where the filler neck goes through the bed side.

The pictures helped. I wonder about the parts availability? I'm sure the're obsolete but other than NumberDummy how can we look up who has the NOS? Or JEFFFAFA?

Well I just went through this. PO had purchased a new tank. it is a spectra premium F25A
Link: ecat
They sell new for $130. Listed apps are for a dent. Only PN ref I found was D8TZ-9002-J
The vent tube is on the wrong side, but not a big issue to solve.

Sending unit is a D7TZ-9275-B from JBGY
1973-1979 Ford F Series Sending Unit, Side Mount-Broncograveyard.com

The tank straps were all bent and needed help so not sure how exactly close this should have fit. I did some hammering where the straps contact the tank, like the factory tank did and it fit but not perfectly. I replaced all rubber hoses with decent fuel rated hose from here:
Filler Neck Supply: Gas Filler Hose | Fuel Filler Necks
Overall these parts work, truck is back on the road.

Ordered my fuel filler neck rubber grommet today from Mustangs etc. for only 10.00 bucks! Hopefully this will finish this job. Putting things back using oem parts is always more expensive and more trouble but worth it in the end.

I don't know if I missed it and I can't find the info, but how many gallons is this tank and will it fit a 1970 with the more narrow frame rails? Thanks in advance!!
