Today is the day........

So, I decided to add another RV related stop while my XLR is at the plant next week. I'm going to head up to Dynamax for a factory tour. Although Renegade RV is my dream Super C, if if ever happens it will more likely be a Dynamax.... unless I hit the lottery. I'll try to get a bunch of pics from there too to post.

Good evening Rodney and the gang,
I never saw any pictures of the slide canopies you added a hundred or so pages ago. If I remember right you had someone else install these. I would like to add these canopies to my Voltage.
How would one anchor this to the trailer section, the slide part seems easier? Which canopies did you use and how are they holding up? Any dimension recommendations as far as width.
I hope everyone is enjoying there weekend, just opened my first beer.
Cheers!

Dang! I had to clean the drool from my keyboard from staring at the DX3. Nice rig.

They are much cheaper in the real world. Remember, minimum 35% off retail. I'd be more interested in a Force HD due to the cabover bunk. Fully loaded, they can be had well under 200.

Darrell, I went with the Dometic Elite Full Cover model. They are a great addition. Only on my longest LR slide do I feel I need to tighten it up. I think a turn or two on the springs will take the little bit of sag I have out and prevent wind noise and water pooling. As to how to install on the RV side they come with rails that you screw to the RV. However, on two of my three I already had the necessary rail in place. The gutter XLR used over two of my slides had a grove cut into it for slide topper mounting. This made those two even easier.

I'd go for a used diesel pusher maybe but the trailer I have now is bigger than I need and more trailer than I really want to haul around all the time. My next one will be smaller.

Yes, this is research for long in the future but while in town, why not take the tour. I agree that I'd have to use it a lot more than what I do with my current one to justify the $. DP's are nice but they are a bus. I love the Freghtliner front end of the Dynamax lines. The Dynaquest XL has the biggest motor of the bunch. 450HP/1250TQ. IDK, maybe it's just a looks/image thing. I'd rather be a truck driver than a bus driver....

So, after the fiasco getting here, I finally got to bed close to zero dark thirty. Well, didn't the boys art XLR decide to get an early start and start rolling in around 3:30. Ugh. The train horns every half hour didn't help either. It's going to be quite the long day. I can see why they are here early though. The RV industry is BOOMING. There must be twice as many completed units waiting for delivery drivers as when I was here last year. They are running out of places to put them....
