With a Timkin OK load of 60, I'd say this is good stuff.

Thanks Springerpop. I just bought this truck about a month ago so I am playing catch-up on all of the maintenance and mods the previous owner had no clue about. Although, I can't say that I'm not enjoying doing the work, maybe it's a sickness but I'm pretty sure there are many here with the same disease

Alright, a little help here please. I found the ABS sensor wire and tried to follow it down but it gets pretty tight. Do you have to take the wheel off to do this lube job? I sure didn't seem like you could do it with the wheel on but what do I know.

Is the hex head screw you are talking about removing for this grease job the one that is shown on the top of the assembly in this picture?

I just came back from Advance where I bought some 90-140 Mobil 1 syn. gear oil. Sitting near it was one of these little gadgets. I thought about this thread and wondered if it would work. The diameter of the tube is 13/32 nd's. And will fit all grease guns. It was $3 and change, of course I bought one.
If anyone wants to get a better look at it, I could email you the picture and you can open it and see it better. I just couldn't do any better than this trying to upload the attachment.

Thats not a bad idea, I just did mine today I just bought a Zerk fitting used a little electricians tape to make it fit and pumped away.

My right-front "sealed-hub" has 214,000 miles on it using this method.
I had to replace the other side before we discovered how to re-grease these.

I'm about to tackle this hub maintenance.
Is there a recomended amount of grease to pump into this area?
Even though it is coming onto 7 years old (first registered in Feb 2006) my truck is only at 126,000Km (78,300miles) on it.
I will be making this an annual maintenance item and would like to know if any of you fellas have by experience/trial & error come up with how much to pump in?

The down-and-dirty method is to pump it until you see a bit pushing past the seals.
That will cause some more to seep out during the next few hundred klicks, and it will get some grease inside the rotor's "hat", but none should end up getting to the rotor's braking surfaces.

It's getting close to the time for that annual reminder, guys........
One of my hubs (one of the OEM originals) now has over 237,000 on it, so I suppose we can put the debate to rest: Lubing the front wheel bearings through the ABS sensor holes WORKS!
Lithium-based, non-moly, NLGI #2, GC-LB
Mobil-1 (red) synthetic grease meets this spec, and is commonly available.
And.....
If you remove your hubs to do this (I don't), don't forget to lube those needle bearings that support the stub axle, too! These bearings are supposed to get lubed every 60,000 miles, anyway.
Now might also be a good time to lube those caliper slide pins, too!
