I think I have isolated my power steering pump leak to the front of the pump, where I believe the reservoir bolts to the pump. Based on the attached schematic, it looks like this could be an O ring problem. Any advice on pulling this pump and replacing the O ring vs a rebuild, and whether or not we should get the reservoir as well if we go rebuild route, greatly appreciated.
BTW this schema references a hang tag and I do not have one that I can see. I do have on on the power steering gearbox, stamped with SPA.
I have tried unsucessfuly to stop leaks from between pump housing and the res. Two different pumps, good O-rings, and plenty of sealer. They don't leak right away, but soon drip and making a mess. Surely the is a repair short of replacing the whole unit. 1974 F100 with FE

You could replace just the reservoir, but it will probably be cheaper to buy a rebuilt pump.
When I had to replace my pump, a rebuild was fairly cheap after the core exchange. That may be the simplest route anyway, especially since you can't really be sure it's just the o-ring until you've got it apart anyway.

We picked up a rebuilt for about $60 so seems well worth it. Of course we bent the pulley trying to pull and reuse it so that set us back and well need a new tool to put the pulley we had to buy on to the replacement pump but hey that's how you get new tools right?
