Ok, here is the story, I let a guy use my truck....... and he told me that the o/d light was blinking and the gear was jerking when he took off. Thats really all he told me. When I took it this morning, no more light blinking and it drove fine, and as I pulled into work, it started to blink. I never felt the truck jerk but thats was my buddy said it was doing. Any Ideas??....if this get expensive, I'm doing a zf5 swap.....(I know, the dark side).
This transmission has 15K miles on it, brand new 2 years ago.
Ok, I might take it to the shop that swapped it and have them read the codes. It is still on warrantee - I hope putting a turbo on it does not void that. I could always take the turbo off and then bring it to them.
The thing is, I got it swapped 2 hours away..... I wonder if the truck would make the trip?
Just for kicks, how hard is the pedal assembly swap for the ZF5?
Also, what parts do I need to change other than the transmission/TC??
Hey guys, I just got a quote from a guy nearby on a parts truck for everything zf5 related - transmission, clutch, pedal assembly, driveshafts, Transfer case, shifter, slave cylinder. He told me 650? That a good deal?
Ford Fuel Injection » How To Run a Self-Test Here is a link on how to get any codes yourself. You probably don`t have a MIL so you would need to wire in a small test light or meter as shown in the link.

Make sure it includes the flywheel too. Pricewise, it's likely decent, if in good shape. Don't forget to grab the trim boot for the floor of the truck for around the shifter.
