I just need to quit taking people at their word. "Runs." Was that before the #7 glow plug was broken off in the head and the pre-cup cover was cracked...and the cylinder filled with water (either from the cooling system or rainwater running down the broken glow plug hole? Hopefully the transmission works after not having a PTO cover on it for what appears to be a long time. There's no way this thing ran when it was parked.
Nice. I guess that's why it was best to not use the starter there. At least I got a nice pair of needle nose vicegrips out of the deal. Lesson learned. ALWAYS look over the vehicle before handing over money.....and TRY to start it first. I brought batteries with me too. Ugh. Lesson learned.
