That 5.0/5.3 race will be a good bit closer than like 5 car lengths.
Heck, my 5.7 yoter will barely toss a 5.3 Chevrolet with the same mods. I'm talking maybe a car length or two max at 50. Chevy has 141K miles and mine has 51K miles.
I think its fishy how bad some of the trucks are beat. I dont think that even with the new power numbers, they are going to leave a 5.3 that hard.
I agree, If you notice Ive added a few more clips that I found, And there is one of the Ecoboost F-150 racing the Silverado (This time we are riding in the Silverado) And the race is much closer than it was with the with the 5.0L vs 5.3L, Which doesn't really make sense because according to pickuptrucks.com a Crew Cab 5.0L F-150 ran 0-60 in 7.3 seconds. And a Crew Cab Ecoboost ran 0-60 in 6.8 seconds. So according to those numbers at least The Ecoboost should have outdone the 5.3L by an even greater margin than the 5.0L V8. I've no doubt the 5.0L's will be quite a bit faster than the 5.3L Chevy's. But perhaps in this particular race the 5.3L just got a bad start or maybe the 5.0L got a really good start. Who knows at this point.
On a side note I have to admit in the 4.6L vs 4.6L video, this was the first video ive seen of a 2v vs a 3v and I honestly expected the 3v to be a little faster than it was. I mean I just barely beat the 4.6L2v and only really started pulling away towards the end of the race. But that's just my thoughts on it.
No matter how it all plays out in real world fooling around, (and there will be some), Ford has finally crafted an engine line-up that will run with the pack in all aspects of work and play.
