Used to have an 05 King Ranch. I loved the driver assist handle when getting in and out...very convenient. I just picked up my 10 lariat and realized that the handle was eliminated from the driver side. Totally annoying. Also, when it rains water seems to pour off the roof onto the seat when getting in & out. That never happened with my 05 king ranch. Ford shouldn't try to fix things that are not broken.

I noticed that too. Infact it was the first thing that I tried to grab for. When I test drove my '10.
My '01 and '04 F150 had it. So did my '00 F250 and '06 Dodge 2500.
I used it all the time on my Tundra to get in and out. I have no idea why Ford would delete it for the driver where its needed most. I just grab the pillar anyway.
There is no accommodation behind the plastic A-pillar trim for a driver's side grab handle on my 09. So without some sort of custom metal work, it cannot be added.
I never used it in any truck I've owned. I always just grab the steering wheel on the way in. That might be why Ford eliminated it besides saving a dollar.
I thought it wasn't there because it may obstruct the drivers view. My 97 F350 didn't have one so I just used the steering wheel to pull myself in. Don't really need it with the F150.

Same here I always have used the steering wheel.
That grab handle also blocks some view, and it might even block some airbag or something. It may be the reason that they got rid of it
When sitting in the driver seat, the driver side grab handle usually is pointing straight at you and does not block your view. At least that's how it was in my Tundra.
Using the steering wheel isn't good either. Especially if the truck is on since it well cause a dry steer. I doubt the steering wheel is designed to have one's weight pulling on it when getting in.
They simply should not have gotten rid of that handle. It's a truck that sits high off the ground. Every entry point should have a handle. Bad choice on Ford's part.
