How do people sleep at night. The temperatures here are hitting 110 plus 100% humidity. I feel for the poor soul that would do this job.

They have passed laws against picket signs on the side of roadways and telephone poles. The way around it is to put a person on the street holding the sign. They are now trying to make a new law/ordinance banning this also. They say it is to much of a distraction to drivers and dangerous for the sign holder. I agree with them on this one.

Yep that sounds like a "fun" job alright...
Our local Hardees restaurants were doing that for awhile...they had the restaurant's regular employees stand out by the road holding a sign about lunch specials or whatever. I think they must have finally quit. Looks like a crappy way to earn a paycheck regardless.

$380 a week before taxes at least it is an honest living for someone that wants to do it.
$18,000 a year before taxes better than unemployment.
People pay good money for gym memberships to dance around in the heat now you just have to hold a sign. They should market it as a work out and charge people to do it.
I got some white paint here anyone want to paint my fence?

We have wobble boarding at Domino's. Only the insiders have to do it, though, and only for about an hour or so at a time. Drivers don't wobble board

I saw an AMAZING sign dancer in Brentwood, TN last year. Can't remember for what company, but dud was really good at throwing the sign in the air and then catching it. He actually did standing backflips. And he was a distraction....traffic at that particular light went very slowly 'cause everyone was watching the guy.

Could be worse...
I was doing the tourist thing back in Disney World Florida in August one year.
I was at Space Mountain and saw Space Goofy. He was in a silver space suit and a big plastic bubble space helmet. You couldn't see Goofy's face due to the steam in the bubble.
Later that day, during the Main Street parade, all the dancers had HUGE stains in their arm pits.
That is a humid place.

We have the liberty tax people doing the sign holding around tax time, but year around we have several of the quick lube places that have the employees go out with little signs to try to get people to come in. Might not be a bad deal at some times of the year, but I've seen them out there in wind and really cold temps, rain and 100 deg plus with no shade. Sorry but I'd have to awfull desperate to do that. Just afraid I'd pull a stupid and tell them that there are better ways to make money. Even panhandling you can stand in the shade or out of the wind and rain.
