Just bought a 1985 F150 Supercab...5.8 liter 4 valve, and was driving it from westminster to Overlea. Got a far as the pikesville exit, and it was getting it... when all of a sudden it died. It now does not get spark! WTF! any suggestions? Maybe the Voltage regulator?
5.8L 4 valve? I'm assuming you mean it has a 5.8 4V, which refers to the 4 bbl carb.
If so, then it should have a silver box on the drivers inner fender, below the brake master cyl. This box is about 4" square and has a blue grommet where the wires come out. That's the ignition control module. If it doesn't have motorcraft printed on it, it's been replaced. The non-factory boxes are usually cheap, and don't last anywhere near as long as the factory ones.
Take that box to most any parts store, and they can test it. If it fails the test, bite the bullet and get a genuine motorcraft part.
