thanks thats what i was affraid of. bought it out of a junk yard sight unseen for a 100 bucks. told them i needed a 410 ratio to match my front end. they said it was but when it was delivered and i read the tag. i knew it wasnt and needed a second opion to be sure i wasnt reading the tag wrong. well at least i got a spare set of 31 spline axels now. thanks again
I have a 9" rear end I know nothing about. I have a tag that reads:
WDC-CK4 OJD
3.25 9 103A
I know its a 3.25 ratio and open with a 9" ring gear. But what year is it? What is it out of? I have no idea. I was hoping to narrow it and add a posi to it. Is this even possible? Any help would be great.
Thanks
I am trying to translate this rear end tag. I am trying to find a different third member that will fit. Not all is clear. It was supposed to be from a 72 F-100

Thank you, This is in a 1950 Ford F1 with a 700-R4 tranny, 350 engine. What would be the best gear ratio for the third member to have adequate speed off the line but still maintain freeway cruise? It is a 3.70 now.
3:70's arent bad for what youre after.............................Especially with the 700R4 overdrive...............you probably cant come up with much better combo.
