Brake Cylinders needed for '63 F-600 ..
Following "Customcab's" suggestion, I've been searching through FTE for references to probs with obtaining new '63 F-600 brake cylinders .. I found a couple of references but nothing specific, so I'm throwing open my quest for suggestions on sourcing the following parts ;
1. 2x R/H Rear brake cylinders
2. 2x L/H Rear brake cylinders
3. 1x R/H Front brake cylinder
4. 1x L/H Front brake cylinder
5. All screw in unions to suit all brake cylinders, (I'll make up the pipes here)
6. Chrome Front Bumper for same
I'm restoring my recently imported '63 F600 Ramp Truck with a 292 Y-block V8, 4 speed manual box, & 2 speed rear end on a twin wheel axle ..
Please adv who I can contact to source parts for this beast .. There seems to be oodles of suppliers for F-1s and F-100s but nothing for the big Fs ..
Many thanks

There are myriad types and diameters of wheel cylinders used in these trucks. It all depends on the size of the front/rear brake shoes and the weight capacity of the front/rear axles.
To figure out what's correct, myself (or anyone else) will need to know the following:
What is the AXLE code found on the Warranty Plate? This is necessary to find out what the weight capacities of the axles are.
What are the sizes of the front & rear brake shoes?
The front brakes could be: 14" x 2 1/2" // 15" x 3" // 16" x 2 1/2"
The rear brakes could be: 15" x 4" // 15" x 4 1/2" // 15" x 5" // 15" x 6" // 16 1/2" x 4 1/2"
There is no factory chrome front bumper for these trucks, as Ford didn't offer one.
The F500/750 front bumper is not the same as used on F100/350's.
As promissed I will get the Warranty plate data, check the brake shoe sizes & I note your comment re the non availability of a Chrome Bumper ..
Cheers for your help ..

I think I'll try to get from one source as I'll save on carriage costs .. It's coming across the pond so it's always the best plan ..
BTW Does anyone know if these beasts were officially imported to UK or Europe by FMC ? ..
No probs with the hijack OC, as I also have a number of other Ford vehicles including a '52 F-1 so it's all of interest ..
Thanks again ..

The USAF in Europe (Ramstein AFB in Germany for example) prolly had some, but that's about it.
My personal sidearm is my dad's 1911. According to the serial# it was part of a big batch sold to the Navy in 1918. I shoot it at least monthly.

Since you're prolly buying the wheel cylinders from Green Sales, ask them to look up the other stuff, as I'd rather not have to do it, considering the state of my health.
I don't get paid (by anyone) for doing this jazz, and looking up all these parts...then listing them...is a time consuming chore.
Green Sales does not charge for research and will prolly have all the parts.
You can pass this brake info along: 1957/63 Ford Truck Parts Catalog =
Front brake parts: Text-Section 20.1 / Parts List # 7.
Rear brake parts: Text-Section 22.1 / Parts List # 9.

I thought you were taking on too much, too soon to be good for your health .. Your talking to someone who after the removal of a brain tumor, took best part of 2 years to get back up to speed & I don't know that I'm quite there even now .. You take it easy Bill, & get yourself REALLY fit again soon ..
Cheers
Paul
