Have you tried JobLot Automotive. I believe that they're in New Jersey. If they don't have any, try Chuck Mantiglia of Chuck's Trucks.

Are the F4 Kingpins different than the F3? Reason I ask is C&G lists a kingpin kit that is good for F1-F3. Wasn't sure if there was a difference!

There might be a difference. Weren't F4s considered one ton trucks, while the F2 was a 3/4 ton and F3 was a heavy duty 3/4 ton?

I know that the steering boxes are the same for F1-F3 trucks, while F4 and up are different. Might be the same for the kingpins.

i have a 50 merc m-68(=f-3),last summer i picked up a front axle off a 53 f-1to get the 5 bolt pattern for the front.i thought i could just swap the whole stub from the king pin out(didnt work).my 1 ton king pin was smaller than the 1/2 ton in dia.but the same in length.the axles where exactly the same so i just swapped the backing plates and hubs.
at the time i found a site that showed the specs, but that was before i figured out that i should be saving the links and how i cant remember where it was.

i think dennis carpenter lists the different ones or lmc,but not sure.they are the same length for sure but different in dia.just make sure you order the right size.

hope this helps.

Howdy,

I bought 0.010" over size kingpin kits from Napa auto parts for my 55 F-600. A standard pin would have been sloppy in it. They came from Rare Parts in Stockton, Ca. Steering & Suspension, All American Cars, Import Cars, Off Road and Trucks | RareParts.com

I then used a front end shop to install them because they were able to ream and hone the holes with a Sunnen hone. The front end is like new now.

The steering is absolutely perfect now.
