Loud pounding noise at 60 mph
Yesterday I starting experiencing a loud noise that appears to be coming from the front right tire area. The best way I could describe it is similar to the sound you hear when you ride with one window down and you get that pounding sound from the air. It begins at 55mph, is at its worst at 60 mph and then stops again above 65. Its extremely loud when driving with the windows up and when I put the front passenger window down it is much louder which leads me to believe its a problem with the front wheel. The tires are new (the truck is new to me) and the weights appear to be in place, and I checked for any ice/snow build-up. The truck doesn't drive any different, no wheel shake or anything so I think they're properly balanced. We just had a lot of snow here and I used the 4wd, this has started since I used the 4wd. Could there be a problem with the 4wd causing this? I had the hubs locked in when using the 4wd and have since set them free again. Any ideas are welcomed, I'm hoping its not a bad wheel bearing.

I take it that your transfer case is turned back to 2WD.
It sure sounds like something underneath or maybe some ice on the driveshaft. Lots of things it could be, even ice on the inside of the rims. Hope someone here has better ideas than mine.
