Gents, this probably belongs in another forum, but you guys know what the heck your talking about so here it goes.....
I want to put 265x75x16 tires on my dually with aftermarket alluminum rims, problem is the tires touch. Im running 235x85x16s now, but like the look of bigger tires.
I found a hubcentric wheel spacer, wheeladapter.com Has anyone ran these on a truck like ours? My truck is a 2001 F350.
I tow really heavy loads a lot, like 35k, and im wondering if anyone has experience with these spacers, how they worked, etc.
I run 265/75r 16 on my stock wheels and they don't touch. I have hauled some heavy loads also. Are the A/M wheels wider then the stock? I also keep 80 psi in the rear all the time. I don't know if I would run spacers with that heavy of loads.
The aluminum wheels have a different offset than the factory aluminum wheels did. When i got the truck, it did have 265s on it and i really liked that look.
I left a message for the guy that does the spacers regarding how much weight they could handle, etc.
I have the billet aluminum 2" spacers on my truck and pull my 30' toyhauler without any issues. You tow much heavier than I do so I would consider the machined steel spacers like the company off road unlimited in Burbank Ca. offers but there alot more money.
I got my spacers today from wheeladapter.com. 36 lbs the package weighed and the only thing in there was the 2 spacers. Looks pretty heavy duty. Hope it will hold the weight, I guess we will see.
I talked to Fred, the guy that owns wheeladapter.com, he said if I break the spacer, something else will break first. Told him how much weight I tow, he didnt think it would be a problem. They are definitly heavy duty spacers thats for sure.
I'll have to post some pics of my truck with the new tires, spacers and hopefully washed, truck is so dirty right now, ugh.
