I like my '98 Expy Eddie Bauer -- it runs fine, low mileage etc. Except it is starting to look a little dated (especially with the white / beige accent exterior).
Any suggestions on how to spruce it up, make it look a little more modern? Pictures would help as well. I'm thinking maybe grill, front bumper, lights, but it's hard to find items that work together. I don't want just a pimped out Expy.
I have lived by this rule for a couple of decades now....Decorate your house, not your car.
If it doesn't have a function (besides looks) it doesn't go on my vehicle. Grilles and bumpers are pimp fodder for sure. It looks a little dated because it is ten years old. Actually though, I think they still look pretty modern, heavy in the butt, but modern.
New wheels always help I am not sure what you have on it now, but a little change and a little width give these trucks a different stance and take away from the overall large back half. I have yet to see any aftermarket taillights that do anything for improving looks. Do you like the "urban assault" vehicle look, "pro street" look, "off road" look. Once you decide on that, then I would be glad to give you some info on accents that would go good together. PM me if you would like after you decide on overall end look you want
sounds like you have an eddie bauer. ford did something similar to what you are proposing on later model first gen expys. it was called the sport model and in fact had grey accents where yours are arizona beige. had some other things too, like step bars instead of running boards but.....don't know if it came in white with grey but it definately came red with grey. they are fairly common, at least in the south.
other things you can do inexpensively might include removing the roof rack (it just bolts on, is easy to remove and visually lowers these relatively tall vehicles), change out your tails for 1st gen navigator tails, change out your headlights and corners for 1st gen lightning, "finish" the striping across the lift back that ford left out, exhaust tip, put on the ford oem rear spoiler for expys, add the newer f-250 super duty fender vents, maybe change out your front bumper to the first gen harley davidson model......
Here's how I dressed up my 98' Eddie Bauer. A nice lift, some new rims, 35 x 12.5 inch tires and a little pin striping and some vinyl. Not sure if that's the route you are thinking,.
I wouldn't repaint the truck; it will ruin the resale of the truck. As far as things to put on it, start off with functional things that look good, bigger fender flares if you have bigger tires. You could also get a full detail on the paint, clay bar, wax removers; get the scratches out then put on a high quality wax it will change the look of your paint. It will take the white and make it look really pure white. You could also do other different things with the trim etc but I wouldn't spend any money on anything that won't improve the vehicle besides looks. Like I said if you have a truly clean truck, after all the detailing I bet your truck will look 100 times better than it does right now, mine does.
I would replace the tail and 3rd brake light with led's. Also as was previously mentioned replace the head and corner lights with the lightning one. If you look around you can also find matching fog lights.
Its kind of endless on the possibilities.....headlights, exhaust, fender flares, wheels/tires,tint etc etc. Post some pics just for the heck of it. Go into the galleries to see what you might like. It can get expensive depending on how far you want to go, but to me its worth it.

I would agree with a good detailing, I did this on our 01' white/beige E.B. and got a few comments from people on how good it looked. Lots of work but not much $$ since I did it myself.
