Saw something on the world news tonight about a big pot growing building in Canada. Apparently they are trying to pass a law making it legal to help reduce the pain and suffering from certain physical ailments. Now we the antidrug country wants to spoil the party. It's to bad we as a nation can't keep our nose out of other peoples business. After all they have been growing pot "south of the border" for years! And our War on Drugs hasn't slowed that down much.
A couple of years ago the old man was dying of a nasty cancer and at the end things were pretty bad.
Particularly no appetite..he was anti-drug but even he would have been willing to give it a go - he wondered about it at least once.
And thinking back maybe we should have. Sad to see a big guy waste away.
This is progressive. People that are at the end deserve options. At least a few of the old timers here have taken the last drastic option at the very end when thing become unbearable. Their choice.
In Hawaii you can get a doctor's permission to grow your own "medicine" You are issued a license, and thereafter you will have two DEA agents follow you wherever you go.
I certainly hope so. The US of A ought to do the same. Why cannabis is thought of as anymore evil than booze or tobacco I have no idea. Dope smokers, as far as I can tell, cause a whole lot less problems than drunks. Not to mention that clothes made of hemp outlast cotton at least 3 to 1. How many trees could we save if we made paper from cannibis stalks? Isn't that what the Constitution is printed on, hemp paper ? Ironic isn't it ? DF
i have an uncle who unfortunatly has recieved two very bad back injuries. by him smoking pot, he is relieved alot better than he is from the VERY expensive pain killers and the pot is cheaper cost even
i hope the DEA doesnt read this, if they do, my lips are sealed!

There's a big article in Time this week about legalizing (or at least decriminalizing) pot in the U.S. I've got mixed emotions about this myself but the article is pretty interesting.
Could someone who opposes the legalization of medicinal marajuana please explain how cannibis is any more dangerous than using oxycontin? I have known cancer patients in severe pain using oxycontin, which btw is highly addictive, yet the DC dunderheads take it upon themselves to continue the marajuana prohibition. Go figure?
Taxing something that isn't legal for the entire public causes great concern in DC. Money being paid by insurances companies for something that is deemed illegal might raise some eyebrows too.
