Well the Factory original battery is over 10 years old and the damn cold weather is beginning to make me question how much longer my battery will be able to do its job.
I'm looking to replace it with this: Braille Battery USA - B10049 but its a inch or two longer than stock so I'm wondering if anyone here as recommendations as to getting it to fit.
Since this is my only form of transport to work and school I willing to put the money into making it keep running. Not to mention if I ever replace my truck with another truck or the like I can always swap batteries.
Also after looking around on Jegs I can get it for $250 or so.
YOU DO NOT NEED THAT MUCH POWER!!! or CCA Just go find you a optima yellow top, and keep that for another 10 years atleast. Those optima are great and if you want even more behind you go to a red top but thats alot of over kill. Even a auto zone 3 year free replacement is gonna last a while, had one of them in my last 2 cars both had systems and one car only had a 60 amp alternator and i was running 4 55 watt lights.
While I'm sure you could modify the battery tray and cover to accommodate the additional length I would strongly recommend against it. The Motorcraft # BXT-65-850 should be more than enough and will probably last for as long as you keep the truck.
