Wondering what the benefits of a 351w roller block over a non roller block. Also found a 351w roller block with casting number is F2TE-AA and wondering if it is a true roller?
thanks.
The benefit of a roller block is that you can install a stock roller camshaft in it. Although aftermarket roller cams can be installed in non-roller blocks, it is expensive.
Roller camshaft advantages:
1) Reduce friction.
2) Allow quicker valve opening and closing, allowing more optimised camshaft profiles.
3) Compatible with modern low zinc motor oils.
4) Don't need any break in procedure.
5) Lifters can be reused from one camshaft to another.

I am only aware of roller blocks with the F4TE casting number. You say that you found one with the F2TE-AA casting number. Does this block have the raised lifter bores and tapped bosses in the lifter valley for the "spider"?
There is a typo in the Ebay posting, the letters F4TE are clearly visible on the block so yeah it's a true roller block.
P.S. Another benefit of the roller block is a WAY better cam selection, every roller cam available for the 5.0HO will also fit in this motor with the factory roller lifters and retainer assembly.
