Check out this link. This is where I bought mine. Haven't tackled the details of installing them yet, as the the door was poorly welded on for a bad repair there. Fair price since the only place I could find them, arrived in a very timely manner. They also have some other items I'm considering.

Ditto on Wescotts. The only place I found one for my truck.

Thanks for the info on the hinges.
Anybody interested on working on 42-47 pickup hinges, the 1932-1948 Hinge Pin Puller is a must item to have from Bob Drake, but, did not help me on the lower pass hinge. Sheered all 3 puller pins to push the pin out. It was FROZE in the post side of the hinge. Heated the hinge and still barely came out, and on top of it, it made the hole so big and egg shaped, it's impossible to work with now. Thanks again, Lee

door removal

I am in the process of removing the doors on my 46 1/2 ton getting ready to blast and repaint the cab and am having a bear of a time getting the pins out. Have ordered the Drake pin removal tool from the above thread. I suspect heating the pins with a torch will help loosen them. Wasn't sure if pins were supposed to come out since some I've seen seem to have been 'bucked' in place. Any help would be appreciated, especially how most of you heat the part to loosen it. phil.

Well two of the pins came out just fine with the tool. Then the next door, destroyed a set of pins for the tool. Did not want to heat them up. Trying to save the hinges, I drilled the pin with a smaller diameter than the hinge pin. Then I took a punch or punches and slowly removed the remainder of the pin. Upon removal of said pin I found that a household door hinge pin was driven in because it was longer to hold the mirror in place. Well those pins a just a little bit bigger than the stock ones. Hope this helps Good Luck

If you heat them with a propane torch and touch a candle to the hinge the wax will seep down the pin and loosen it. You just have to get them warm not cherry red. Then the hinge pin puller works great.

Thanks. I am waiting for the puller. Wasn't sure about the amount of heat needed...some say red hot, etc. But the candle melting certainly sounds like a neat solution. phil.

I see CRC now sells a spray liquid that will freeze(shrink) a part when You spray it on. I haven't tried it yet but I bet it would help. Dan
