Small back window installation question

I picked up the weather strip for this (56) from Dennis Carpenter and placed it on the glass to let it relax some of the twist and wrinkles out before I try to install it. I read the instructions from DC which says to install the glass from the outside but I also read my shop manual which says to install it from the inside. I looked at a couple trucks at Lowes speedway this past weekend and I am sure which way the strip goes (after install) and I believe the shop manual has it right ie install from the inside, but I wanted to ask someone who has done it , by the way I called DC to ask and their guy said it goes in from the outside as their instruction say. Please tell me which is correct. thanks

The 55 goes in from the inside isn't the 56 the same back window?
I did mine not to long ago, was quite easy if you have someone outside sat in the bed pulling the cord, with you pushing, use plenty of washing up liquid and some plastic covered washing line..

From the inside. I had to help the outside corners a little with a glass installers tool (my friend has it and I have no idea were he got it). Carpenters crew also told me that corner patch panels fit just fine and the problem was mine.

Just thought maybe the corners were tight on my rear window because I'm using a sliding unit. By the way it's a 56

It goes on from the inside (in case you hadn't been told that).

I just replaced mine on the 51 and it's the same process. You need to put adhesive in the channel of the rubber that fits on the glass. Then you need to "soap" the window opening with something thick and slipery like "Dawn" dishwashing soap. Get a piece of heavy string and wrap it around the window seal.

It takes two people - one on the inside holding the glass and pushing out and up on it from the extreme sides. You want to slip the top in first then the bottom as you pull the string.

The second person stands in the bed and pulls the string from the outside pulling the lip of the rubber seal across the metal opening to the outside. The inside person has to maintain pressure on BOTH ends of the glass and push up at the same time or it will pop out the end opposite where you are working. When the string has been pulled, the person inside gently hit/pushes with the heel of your hand on the outside edges - up and in.

If you pull the string all the way out and the whole rubber lip doesn't cross over don't fret. You can get something rounded and thin (like a tounge depressor or plastic putty knife edge) to stick it behind part of the seal that is out and walk it around to pull out the rest.

Then wash off all the soap and check for leaks. If it does leak, let it dry out for a day or two then seal the outside seal all the way around with window seal adhesive.

Yup, its very easy to install.
I have a little glass install tool that helped me (didn't need the string method at all).
I picked up the tool from a company called Frost restoration in the UK
