hello all, i'm new to this particular forum, i'm usually over in the previous generations since i have a 62 f-100, but alas today i venture into here... my buddy is just getting his 68 f-250 4X4 up and running again, and what he needs to get it fully operational is a passenger side front brake drum... so i was just wondering what years and models should he go hunting for in the junk yard to get a new drum... thank ya kindly...

Ford did not sell the drum only, only aftermarket companies did...so I cannot give you any info on just the drum.
There were three different front axle weight capacities, so there were two different front HUB and DRUMS...but I believe the difference is in the hubs, not the drums.
3,000 & 3,300 lb. front axle capacity:
B9TZ1102A .. Hub & Drum / Obsolete
Fits: 1959/68 F250 4WD.
BOB ALLEN FORD in Overland Park KS has ONE: 800-676-0675.
No other Ford Dealer or obsolete parts vendor has any.

3,500 lb. capacity front axle:
C1TZ1102A .. Hub & Drum / Fits: 1961/68 F250 4WD.
BOB ALLEN FORD in Overland Park KS has ONE.
No other Ford Dealer or obsolete parts vendor has any.
---------------------------------------------------- NOTE: 1969 and later F250 4WD's used different hub & drums.
The axle is a closed knuckle Dana 44 so it is not that easy to convert to discs as I have seen only one company advertising to have the parts to do it. And it is very expensive compared to finding just a drum to make it work.
1960-1975 F250 is listed as taking the same drum, assuming 4x4 only, the listing didn't specify. Might also be the same unit used on 60-63 GM K20 pickups...........
A new drum is $50 from Schucks.
