I had a set of the firestones on my '99 SD back in 2005. I bought them in Tucson AZ, immediately towed my 30' TT from there to PA. Rears were 1/8 gone when I reached Harrisburg PA. Sold on craigslist for $250. Too soft for a heavy truck IMHO.
hmmm, i dont like the sounds of worn out so fast, but the firestones are a much better looking tire and have better reviews then the dunlops, i have a guy at work with a lifted 97 350, he got about 47k and some change out of his mudrovers. all the reviews said the firestones outlast the mudrovers
all brands of MT"s have a softer rubber compound and agressive tread for traction witch reduces mileage. and the heaver the load the faster will wear. I have had one customer with a 02 sd get 90 k out of a set of F/S and a good friend of mine get 32 k out of the same F/S on a 03 chev. big dif, same AT tires
joe thats a good deal on the firestones i dont have our cost at home here but our list price on the F/S $240.47 ea X 4 is 961.88 i have the note here when i checked on the mud rovers for you it was 724.81 from tire rack so your getting a good deal eather way.
ask them if they have so mud rovers running and if thay would give so referrals
ouch...i'm looking at $450 worst case installed. you sure you don't want me to ask my friend if he's got another set that'll fit yours? i'd bring em up and trade you for the axle and stacks LOL...i swear that refund can't get here fast enough!
well i still have a set for 600 from ron that i like, he has the dick cepek crushers, they look to be a very nice tire but i am waiting to see if he is buying my toolbox.
Those crushers are awesome. I had them on my jeep wrangler and they had 10K on them when I traded it for my F350 they still looked new. Rode nice and wore nice. Noisy though.
I have Cooper Destination ATR's on mine. Great ride, awesome traction in snow and ice. Couldnt tell ya bout actual wear. they only have 1300 miles on them. Cooper has a 50K mile warranty on them.
Are most of you running load E or load D tires? I know those of you that tow are running E's. What about those that just use it for daily driving or playing in the mud?
