Im looking to replace both batteries in my truck. Just wanted to see what everyones opinion was on the best brand to buy was. I was thinking optima, what does everyone think? Thanks
I use the yellow top DuraLast from Autozone they are made by Johnson Controls they also make Sears DieHard,Wal-Mart just to name a few. Had mine in 3 years and no problem.
I use Napa gold series mainly in my semi trucks. Or another good one is Caterpillar batteries. The local freightliner dealer had them on sale for 100 buck a piece a while back. Both batteries carry 1000 or 1100 cca's. Talk about make a stroke crank. I have four in the big trucks. They both carry a two year free replacement also.
Whatever you get use the top of the line that they have. They carry a better warranty and usually last longer. They also have more CCA's. I change almost everything over to the semi style with the two 3/8 bolts sticking out of the top. You get away from all the problems usually associated with the lead post batteries.
I use Duralast gold series or insterstate. Considering Duralast and Interstate are both made by same company. Just make sure your cranking amperes and cold cranking amperes are the same on both batt.
Here we go again, seems like every so often this question comes up. All batteries are made by one of about 3 companies here in the US, regardless of who's name is on them. There is a plethora of battery information here, a search on "best battery" returned 20+ threads .....

x2, can I get an Amen
Perfect timing, my batteries just crapped the bed.
I get batteries that have the best warranty and is the closest to home so I
don't have to travel far for new ones. AutoZone for now. Get the most CCA
you can afford but the minimum is 675 CCA IIRC or you won't have
engough power to get it going when it's cold out.
Optimas are too much $$. You only need them if you plan on getting your truck up side down. LOL
Still have the factory original Motorcraft in my 97 at 130K so they get my vote. Interstates have given me good service but dont know who makes their truck batteries. China is trying to make in roads in to the deep cycle batteries we use for off grid homes. You can be sure if they are successful you will start seeing Chinese automotive batteries.
