Auto to Manual Locking Hubs - 1994 Explorer
Is it easy to change from auto to manual locking hubs. I took a quick look at a maintenance guide and it looks like all the parts are the same (I don't know if the part numbers are the same, but the part names look the same). Is the only difference the hub? Can I buy a manual hub and all of the hub assembly parts, from the spindle out, going to be the same?

I don't know which maintenance guide you looked at, but even Chilton's/Haynes shows the difference between auto and manual hubs. You need to disassemble down to the point where you remove the wheel bearing locknut (the big 2-3/8 inch nut). Then replace with the locknuts etc. for manual hubs.
