I hope some one bids on them, there's been enough posts just on this board from people looking for them. I suppose most people wait until toward the end of the auction to bid, I know I usually do but then again, I also sometimes forget and loose out on a good deal.
That's the thing, this guy's BIN price is even a screaming deal. Shipping is the issue, of course, but they'd be worth a drive for somebody to the state of Virginia to pick them up. Stu
Heck, if I needed them I'd do the BIN and make a family vacation this spring to pick them up. We've never been in that part of the country. I even have a old truck friend in the general area.
Bob - I've studied the map to see whether I could reasonably detour south when I go pick up my axles and transfer case from Chuck this spring. Unfortunately it's pretty far out of the way. Hopefully somebody jumps on them and it becomes a non-issue. Stu
Looks like one of you guys has a new set of rims. Good goin'. Closed with the BIN option. You saved me a road trip. I'd figured I'd be the last resort buyer just to put them in inventory. No need to now.
I think you're doing good if you can find them for $50 each or less. I've paid as little as $.99 for two, then paid to ship. In yard searches I've tried to get them for $25 each, then have negotiated for more if I felt they were worth it. The most I've paid was $100 each plus shipping for two that were a Budd part number that allowed me to complete a set. That probably doesn't fall into the smart category, though. Obviously the wheels aren't getting any more plentiful and the price will follow the supply. Hopefully the scrap price surge of last year didn't wipe out the remaining supply.
