EGT Readings on Banks Stinger Kit

EGT Readings on Banks Stinger Kit

I have a 2001 f-250 CCSB 2wd w/ 135k miles

It has the banks Stinger Kit. IC Pipes, 40 HP Chip, Banks Wastegate, WW, Transmission line booster, and Banks Transmission Cooler.

I don't believe it has the Banks IC tho. We bought the truck w/ it so i'm not sure, and I do not have the truck to check.

My question is how hot should the EGT's reach? I run about 500-600 down the highway at 75-80 mph. And up big hills w/ 14000lbs GTW I stay right at 900 Fahrenheit when I'm going up big hills. Does this sound like the proper temps? I do not know if the EGT is pre-turbo like it should be so I wanted to double check to make sure I'm not over heating anything.

Your temps sound good to me. Is that pre or post turbo?

sounds good if its pre turbo... if its post turbo, i would put in the manifold ASAP towing 7 tons

You need to see where the EGT probe is I believe Banks is the company who reccomends post turbos (downpipe). If it is post turbo it is really hard to say as they about the temps as the vary but 900 could be pushing it, or it could be fine.

Those temps are great. I wish my temps were that low. On flat land I run 750* doing 77 MPH. Climbing hills with that much weight I can hit 1200*.

With a temp reading like that, I'm positive that probe is in the downpipe.

Need to move that probe to the manifold or up-pipe, especially if you're towing like that regularly.

Move your probe to the up pipes or manifold and use 1250 as your extended time limit. You can go over that for short times but that is your red line otherwise.
