Rear leaf spring to 1946 ½-ton
I'm currently working on a 1946 ½-ton, and I'm wondering how the rear leaf spring should be. As it is right now there are different numbers of leafs right/left so they aren't in the best of condition.
So basically I want to know how many leafs there were originally and how they looked.
By the way anyone knows what these markings are for? They are made on some of the leafs but only in the right packages.

while underway without load. Because of that many owners have elected to decrease the spring number on each side, down to as low as 4, in an effort to have a smoother ride, generally taking out every other leaf. Of course keep them all if the truck will be loaded heavily.

Those punch marks are for locating the center hole of your springs.
