i want to hook mine up to a sled once, just to see what it would do..... although i already know what would happen if i did it right now, i need to get ladder bars on the rear.

Joe as long as you dont romp on it youll be fine I almost pulled mine but didnt for the saem reason. After watching John pull its not bad if you dont get in it to hard. I think im going to pull this summer. Sure i wont win but who cares.

lol, you havnt seen how bad my truck twists the rear axle.... i can raise the rear bumper about 10-12 inches just by mashing the throttle from a standstill with no load on the truck. the vibration in the cab will rattle the trim screws loose to the point that they fall out if i dont check them frequently.

Not this truck...but one of the old ones(its still a 7.3)...a little too much for that trailer...but she got new tires during the trip.

I always forget the camera when I am working...heaviest I have pulled with the OBS is a 38ft bumper pull camper

So thats why my trim screws keep coming loose...lol. I cant even do a burnout, it just hops. Id like to put some of those redneck ladder bars on mine someday. Only way I can do anything close to a burnout is tach it up and dump the clutch in third gear from about a 20mph rolling start on a wet road.

I havent got the nerve to hook mine to a sled yet. Its my only form of daily transportation, and the wife would kill me if I tore it up pullin a sled.

That was my question. So low 3rd would be the best pullin' gears?

actually it depends on the sled and the track. when i pulled at goodells it would have been best to pull in lo 3rd, but when i pulled at the armada fair later in the year i was pullin against the big trucks (like john klein's dodge, and joe servo's ford w/ cummins and the chevy dirty hooker,) lo 2nd was the best gear to pull in. but my truck has 3.55 gears so if i had 4.10's i probably would use high 1st or low 3rd and never use low 2nd. another factor is if the track is sticky you wanna be in a lower gear while if it is dry it seems to work better to get your tires spinning faster in a higher gear.

if you do get ladder bars my tip of advice is make sure they are welded on and not bolted cuz the axle will still twist if bolted.

lol thanks! I call it the "get the hell outta my way" mod

Its really worth the money, I dont know how many times it has saved my bacon....old ladies, college idiots, it seems like people try and back into me

Not to mention all the animals (AKS speedbumps) in the roads...no contest w/a front bumper replacement
