How much are the del charges??

Ok so it looks like my truck is delayed again for the 5/6th time and i have no idea of when it's gonna turn up. But when i last spoke to my dealer about the delivery charges i asked him why they are so expensive and not included in the price. He told me that it's because of the price of the fuel and it changes so delivery prices have to change. Well how much are these charges again and have they come down now that the fuel prices have come down?

Even though my truck has not arrived, I do have a copy of my Invoice. It shows Delivery Charge of $975, at that rate I could drive to Dearborn and drive my truck home, actually it looks like I could walk all the way from Ky and still drive it back before they deliver it.

ok yeah didnt realise it was on my invoice. Well it looks like the price should be a lot cheaper now as like you say i could fly to the plant and pick it up and drive it back for less money than they are now chargeing and quicker.

Send them a mail if your not happy about the del price Debraj. They might do something about it seeings as it's delayed so long.

Well I keep emailing Ford about what is taking so long and I keep getting the same bull, and they give me a telephone number to call, but the person on that end said they can not help me, they are customer service, I thought that is what customer service did ?? What email address do you send it to?

I have just posted the below on the Ford Motor Company News site FoMoCoNews under the forum Open Letters to Ford
What is taking so long to get XLT's Delivered
What seems to be the problem with getting delivery of my 09 XLT F150? I keep getting told that as soon as there are enough coming to Ky it will be delivered. You can not tell me with all of the Ford Dealerships that we have in the Louisville area, that there are not 6 trucks to fill the transport truck. My dealership's Ford Rep keeps checking on this, with no luck. I have emailed Ford and just keep getting the run around. My truck was built Oct 16 with ETA of Oct 27. If Ford needs money so bad, they should be getting these trucks released. There are alot of people waiting on trucks that have been built, most all of us have been loyal Ford customers and I feel we all deserve an answer.

Hey i have exactly the same problems with their customer service. They really dont know nothing. The normal answer i get is call your dealer. I tell them that my dealer cant get no infomation about the hold ups and they say that they dont know who i need to speak to then. It really does amaze me that they need money but aint sending out these trucks. I just send mails through the contact ford link on the ford web site. Most of the time i dont even get replies but after i send the same message a few times in a week some does reply to it. They say a couple of days to reply but i have waited 2-3 weeks for them to reply and say speak to your dealer lol.

I agree. Ford really should get the vehicles out to sell. We've have a fusion orderd for about 3 -4 months now. It's a little agravating. Almost decided to not get a new car now.

Dude, don't you think it's time to walk away from this deal? Your dealer is cleary planning on sticking it to you for every penny they can snag. No truck is worth this BS. Dump this one and go make a deal elsewhere.

Regarding destination charges, they've jumped up a whole 25 bucks over the 2008 F150.

The delivery charge is simply a way for them to cover the rail charges, inventorying at the distribution yard, paying the misc. people involved in the transit of your truck, and who knows what else. You will not get any discount on it.

Agreed. It is a fixed charge. It is never discounted.

Just seems like such a steep price for a delivery charge.

Remember, you are paying the freight charges for shipping a 6,000 lb truck across the country. It's not cheap!

Have not heard anything. The only thing I keep hearing is 'when there are enough trucks for a load to Ky it will be on it's way'.
