Went to my oil change store yesterday and they informed me they no longer use Rotella. They have Mobil "Fleet" which I assume is Delvac. They said it is not the Del 1 synth and as good if not better than Rotella.
Having always used Rotella, is there going to be a problem switching to the Mobil oil?
Should I go back to Rotella or stay with Mobil?
Sometime's wwhen you switch to syn in older vehicles they begin to seep as its just a better oilI guess. I think syn is better, use it in my stuff w/Lucas.

I repeat . . . it is NOT a synth. (According to the convics they have working there) The cost was the same as when they used Rotella.
What is it? a synth blend? They called it "Mobil Fleet".
I looked at the mobile site and didn't see a Mobile Fleet listed. I'd ask to see some documentation on the oil so you know what grade and specs it meets. If it's Delvac 15w-40 I wouldn't be scared of it.
I don't think you'll have issues with it. If you just like Rotella, go buy 4 gallons of it at Wally World for ~$40 + $10 FL1995 and do your own changes. That's an easy DIY job.

Untrue...switching to synthetics does not cause "seep", which I interpret as seal leakage. Lucas oil additive is, is...see the link provided by jrciii56.

Having run 1.7 million miles, and having a farm also and running tractors and having switched to synthetics several times after purchasing equipment I can prove it cause seepage on valve covers and differential coves. Wanna come look at my John Deere sitting under the shed? Besides, we have run Lucas in every piece of equipment we owned and it has never caused cavitation in any engine or hydraulic system. Our CAT engines run Balt-Sea with no problem and 130,000 miles a year. You'd better send Lucas a letter. They will be livid.
Whether or not a synthetic will cause oil leaks are all a matter of personal experience. Not all synthetics are created equal. Some are much easy on seals and gaskets than others. PAO synthetics are the best.
No one on here is going to fault you for using Lucas. If you like it then stick with it. Take a look at this virgin sample of Lucas oil stabilizer. There is virtually no additives is this treatment. Virtually the additive is just a viscosity improver.
