So I took my truck in today for a sticking caliper on the drivers side and here's what I got back. Truck has a horrible rattle/grinding feel coming through the floor boards at various rpms. Happens whether I'm stopped or moving, so I know it is following the rpms. When I shut off the engine, it stops as well. Also, truck has a good stumble off idle, and clears up above 1500 rpm or so. What the heck could they have touched near the brakes that would have anything to do with this?? Here's the only thing I can think of- Maybe they used a lift and hit my exhaust and bent it/ misaligned it and it is rubbing somewhere? Only thing is I checked, and it's fine. But that does not account for the off-idle stumble... Help please before I go in there and tear someone a new one...
I would take it back to them immediately ,and ask them what did they do ? When ever I work on someones vehicle I usually take for a test drive before and after they should have known something wasn't right.
Yep, I'm going in first thing this morning to talk to whoever did the work, plus the manager. It went in just fine. I'll keep you posted. Thanks for the replies.

Update-So I went in this morning and talked with them. They said there was no way they came anywhere near any wires. So, as I take them for a test drive my cel flashes. Great I thought, as I plugged in my tuner real quick to see what it was. I got PO340 CPS sensor fault. Does this seam like it could be causing my stumble and vibration? I think so, so I'm off to change out the cps and see what happens. If it fixes it I guess I'll have to buy them some beer for my attitude...
sounds like it to me ..i see you read my other post in Kris's thread about the gray sensor..it cost more ($100 bucks) but go to a IH dealer and get a new black sensor...
Yeah, I picked up on that. I have 2 more black originals from Ford from awhile back, so once she cools off a bit I'll throw it in. I'll update after and I will check the cylinder % after as well to be sure.
im sure you will be happy...please do keep us posted...i know mine tested alot better after putting in the black sensor...i though about your problem after i posted this am..just seemed funny it happend after a shop did some work...
What a coincidence! I'm glad that it's a common issue and not the shops fault. I would have really liked to know what they possibly could have done. What dumb luck!
It worked!!! I switched out the grey for my old black spare and it started great, idle is smooth. I cant believe it gave me all those symptoms all of the sudden, without any warning. Oh, and the rotational percentages, all at 0.0%. Thanks,
Oh boy, I hate to report back like this but.... It started acting up again. I changed out the cps to yet another black one and this time it didn't go away. I did some hunting around the engine and found my ICP sensor to be bad (oil pouring out the top) so I changed that out. Ouch about $170 from dealer. PLugged it in and..truck still runs bad. Pulled valve covers off, torqued injectors, checked wiring harness, cleaned everything up, changed oil, changed fuel filter. Still there. It has like a miss at around 1000 rpm. It goes away above and below that. But at 1000, it shakes and kinda stumbles a little. What can I check now? Here's the other thing, when I pull the connector off of the icp, it gets better. I think that makes the pcm go into full pressure mode though right? Making it run very smooth? I'm quickly getting over my head so any help is appreciated.
