4R1oo ATF trans fluid
OK, I've been searching posts for the last hour or so trying to figure out the right ATF Fluid for the truck. Dipstick says Mercon. So, please for give my ignorance but is Mercon Dextron III the same as Mercon. Also I was thinking of changing it with Napas brand M-DIII. Any thoughts on the brand?

DexIII/Merc isn't available anymore, Merc V has been re-formulated to replace the old DexIII/Merc. As for brand, most of it comes from the same place and gets poured into a different bottle (or at least a bottle with different stickers) so pick your favorite flavor and run it. You'll need 20 qts for a full flush.

Here is what I run and so does BTS. Lowered my temps when I switched.
