U-Joint

I had to replace my rear u-joint today. The factory one with no grease zerk went out on me. Luckily my new one is grease able. Wasn't too bad of a job, only took about 30 minutes from start to finish. Anyways, I just wanted to rant for a minute.

Glad you got it fixed with no problems. Good deal on getting a zerked one.

What your forgetting, is your truck is about 9 years old, and since you said it had a non greasable joint, it probably was the origional joint. Not a bad lifespan IMO. The driveshaft shop here, told me the spicer non-greasable ones were actually the good ones, when I had mine rebalanced. And their job is driveshats/ujoints, in medium to heavy duty equiptment, whether its onroad, or offroad. I trust their oppinion.

the non grease able ones would be stronger..there a solid piece..the grease able joint has tunnels for grease to travel..the tunnels weekend the joints....but most of us don't work our truck that hard to break a joint like that...
