track bar question
Hello everyone. This is my first post on this forum. I have a 99 F350 powerstroke 4x4. I just put a 2" leveling kit on my truck and found that the track bar is not lining up properly. It is about a 1/4 to 3/8 out. Do i need to look into getting a track bar bracket or will it be okay to make this work?
Thanks, Ben.

Some kits come with hardware to allow for the 2" lift on the front end. Some kits don't. When I bought one for another truck it had a smaller track bar so I couldn't relocate it. I was told by the manufacturer that it was not a big issue but the front end would be about a 1/2" from center.
Myself I would get the hardware to relocate or maybe an adjustable bar.

Welcome to FTE. I'd go with a bracket and polyurethane bushings. That way you keep everything else stock for ease of finding replacement parts which these trucks have a habit of wearing out. The front end beats the snot out of adjustable track bars. Too much weight with that diesel motor. Of my memory serves me correct, the 99's have a lighter duty trackbar so you might want to search a few scrap yards for a 2000 and up bar. You can persuade the stock bar in, but it might make the existing bumpsteer issues worse. Fabricating a bracket is easy if you can weld and have access to 1/4" plate. Also, make sure you use grade 8 bolts if you go that route. I did that on a 2000, then tack welded it in once all aligned up good.
