Since our fearless leader isn't on, and cause I want to be special and get to start the new one
Anyone want to go to the Coca Cola 600 with me this weekend? Ive got 2 extra tickets and a hotel room for Saturday and Sunday night...for the low low price of $200.
I was in the Navy for 8 years. On submarines, and I was a participant in the 1st Gulf war. So since I like to work on bikes, and have a couple of my own, every year since Igot out, I go down to the Pentagon parking lot where they stage the big parade to the Vietnam memorial wall, and help fix bikes that are broken. The shop I used to work at does it with free labor, just charging for the parts. Last year in the 8 hours I stood in that parking lot, I rebuilt 2 carbs, changed 12 tires, welded a broken sissy bar (real fat chick on the back!!) and did a few wheelies on my Buell. Good times!!!!!

Thats really cool man. Anyone with a broken bike can come up to get it fixed? or just Vets?
A couple of my buddies are officers in the Navy now but I have no idea where they are stationed. I think they are all on the west coast thanks to most all of the naval ports being shut down on the east coast.
Anyone that rides in the parade can get their bike fixed for free labor. The only thing is we are a harley/old triumph/BSA/Norton place so the newer import bikes and rice rockets are sort of out of luck if it's not something simple to fix.
Well, I'm off! I got a 2 hour ride ahead to Charlottesville for training class tomorrow. talk to everyone from the hotel tomorrow!
